Of Autumn
for Josephine
Rose Maloukis
light—
days when the wind
floats branches on the far
side of the park,
pushes slow and rolls
light onto leaves—
they bow, turn, lift
their shoulders I
I cannot look away
your shoulders
light brightens—
naked yellow lapping
the last warmth
before stepping
into cold corridors
little little girl in light
determined, walks
with her father—
he glances at me
you glance at me
light—
